EDS GAMMA

METIS EDS GAMMA

The innovative A1 desktop planetary scanner with great quality, speed and ease of use.

The latest addition to the METIS EDS family (Easy Digital Scanner), the EDS GAMMA is a cutting-edge A1 desktop planetary scanner boasting exceptional image quality, ergonomic design, and heightened productivity in a unique integrated solution.

The EDS GAMMA system allows you to tailor the scan area size and optical resolution to meet specific requirements. Moreover, the final image resolution can be further adjusted to suit particular needs.

METIS has designed the EDS series, a specialised range of professional scanners, to surpass the typical constraints associated with this category of products.

Key Features of the METIS EDS GAMMA:

  • Innovative V-Table design

The EDS GAMMA features a cutting-edge V-Table design which is complemented by specialised software tools to securely accommodate originals at various positions and angles. METIS has specifically crafted the V-Table to gently hold diverse types of originals, including antique books with limited opening angles. This design allows for the scanning of large books, maps, drawings, and various other originals, including those that exceed the A1 format and up to 15 cm in thickness. With METIS' exclusive "shape recognition" and "curvature correction" technology seamlessly integrated into the EDS software, the document's shape is instantly detected in real-time, and the captured image is quickly deskewed, delivering a perfect result.

  • Automatic shape and fingers recognition

The EDS software exhibits advanced capabilities in discerning not only the geometric configuration of pages but also the intricate movements of the operator's fingers. Furthermore, it possesses an automated initiation feature which triggers the acquisition process seamlessly upon successfully recognising the operator’s fingers.

  • Automatic curvature correction and finger removal

Once recognised, the EDS software can automatically correct curvature and eliminate recognised fingers from the image.

  • EDS lighting

The EDS lighting boasts a warm white colour temperature and an impressive Colour Rendering Index of 93. With 4 lamps that users can position and tilt independently, the user can easily customise the light placement and tilt. This allows control over light distribution across the scan area to optimise reflections and uniformity. This feature is important as diverse originals may demand varied lighting arrangements for optimal results. Moreover, each lamp can be individually controlled (switched On/Off) directly from the EDS Software and according to the selected working profile (e.g., book, map, etc.).

  • Variable scan area and resolution

The integrated zoom optics, along with variable camera height and position, enable the scan area size and resolution to adapt according to user preferences. This flexibility allows for the capture of expansive originals (even larger than the A1 format) or for the enhancement of the optical resolution to exceed 800 PPI on smaller formats.

Customising the scan area size can be achieved through various ways, such as employing the zoom lens, adjusting the digital camera height, and moving the digital camera towards the front of the system.

  • Unrivalled image quality

Distinguished by its unparalleled image quality, surpassing industry counterparts, the EDS redefines the paradigm of scanning excellence. Leveraging advanced capabilities that guarantee superior clarity, it emerges as the quintessential choice for users with a discerning preference for cutting-edge technology.

  • Extremely rapid acquisition time

The EDS is known for its incredibly fast scanning. Its high-speed performance guarantees faster workflows, making it the go-to option for those who value speed and productivity.

  • Very easy to use

Extremely simple to use thanks to the EDS software’s user-friendly “icon-based” interface which also supports touch screens.
