METIS EDS ALPHA

EDS ALPHA

METIS EDS ALPHA

The innovative A3/A2 desktop planetary scanner with great quality, speed and ease of use.

The inaugural scanner in the METIS EDS family (Easy Digital Scanner), the EDS ALPHA is a state-of-the-art A3/A2 desktop scanner known for its excellent image quality, user-friendly design, and high productivity — all in a single integrated solution.

The integrated zoom optics allow flexibility in adjusting the maximum scan size and resolution according to user preferences, which enables optimal acquisition of originals up to the A2 format with a remarkable 600 PPI precision.

METIS created the EDS series, a special line of professional scanners, to overcome the usual limitations found in products like this.

Key Features of the METIS EDS ALPHA:

  • Innovative V-Table design

The EDS ALPHA boasts an advanced V-Table design, coupled with specialised software tools for secure positioning of originals at various angles. METIS tailored the V-Table for the delicate handling of different types of originals, including antique books with limited opening angles. It can scan large items (books, maps, drawings, etc.) up to the A2 format and up to 10 cm in thickness. With METIS' exclusive "shape recognition" and "curvature correction" seamlessly integrated into the EDS software, real-time detection of document shapes and rapid deskewing of acquired images ensure impeccable results.

  • Automatic shape and fingers recognition

The EDS software has the advanced capability of recognising not just the shapes of pages but also the subtle movements of the operator's fingers. It also includes an automatic initiation feature that smoothly starts the scanning process when the operator's fingers are successfully recognised.

  • Automatic curvature correction and finger removal

Upon recognition, the EDS software seamlessly executes automatic curvature correction and proficiently removes recognised fingers from the captured image.

  • USB and more

The EDS ALPHA comes with two USB hubs for easy connections, such as for the foot pedal, keyboard/mouse, and an external HD. It includes a USB foot pedal that allows hands-free control for initiating a new scan.

  • Integrated zoom optics

The EDS ALPHA’s integrated zoom optics offer the user flexibility in adjusting the maximum scan size and resolution according to their needs, enabling optimal acquisition of originals up to the A2 format with a maximum of 600 PPI.

  • Unrivalled image quality

Setting a new standard in scanning excellence, the EDS stands out with unmatched image quality that surpasses industry norms. With advanced capabilities that ensure superior clarity, it becomes the top choice for users valuing cutting-edge technology.

  • Extremely rapid acquisition time

Renowned for its rapid scanning capabilities, the EDS ensures swift workflows. This makes it the ideal choice for those prioritising speed and productivity.

  • Very easy to use

Extremely simple to use thanks to the EDS software’s user-friendly “icon-based” interface which also supports touch screens.
